After Britain, now Germany too has decided to introduce strict lockdown in the country again. As the threat of the Corona virus increases, the German government has announced a nationwide lockdown. A statement on it was delivered by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said that by the end of the month, we are extending our national lockdown and implementing strict and fresh limitations to curb coronavirus infection.

On 30 December 2020, for the first time in Germany, more than 1000 deaths were caused by infection within a single day after the start of the Corona epidemic. The Robert Koch Institute, the National Center for Disease Control, confirmed that 1129 deaths occurred on Wednesday.

A week ago, 962 deaths occurred each day. With these fatalities, the total number of Covid-19 fatalities in Germany rose to 32107.

In Germany, the first wave of epidemics had relatively low mortality, but in recent weeks, the second wave has caused hundreds of deaths every day. Italy, Britain, France and Spain all have higher death rates among the big European nations.

With the closure of schools and most shops in Germany on 16 December, widespread restrictions were imposed, which would remain in force until 10 January. Now, these restrictions have been further extended. In total, about 16.9 lakh cases in Germany have been registered.

After the spread of the corona virus epidemic last year, the UK has seen the largest number of 60,196 new infections a day. Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Monday that the nationwide lockdown would be implemented once again due to the rapid spread of the new form of Corona virus infection in Britain.
