Kabul: Two American soldiers were killed Saturday in a bomb attack in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province. The Joint Command of NATO Army based in Afghanistan said the American soldiers ‘ vehicle was hit the IED at the airbase on Kandahar outskirts.
Two American soldiers were also injured in that blast. The US military has not yet given any details about the soldiers who lost their lives in this eruption. The US military is contacting the martyr’s kin first.
Recent attacks by Taliban militants in Afghanistan have increased. Just yesterday Afghan troops in the country’s Takhar province targeted 18 Taliban. Military aircraft have also assisted in this operation against the terrorists.
The operation has been taking place in Norkhil village in the troubled Darqad district for the last two days. Ten Afghan soldiers were killed on December 28, in a Taliban assault on a military base in the province of South Helmand.
The Taliban terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for that attack. Taliban spokesperson Jabiullah Mujahid said the Taliban was planting the IED at the roadside. Taliban assaults on the Afghan and U.S. military persist despite efforts to restore stability to Afghanistan. Militants have sustained substantial casualties in joint military campaigns in Afghanistan in recent months.
