JNU’s ‘Lal Salaam’, a young man from Maharashtra made an impression: The Left has once again come to power in Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student union elections, and a left front led by AISA, SFI, AISF, DSF, has thrown out a winning tally on all four seats – President, Vice President, Secretary, and Deputy Secretary.
In this election in JNU, which is at the center of national politics, the atmosphere in the university premises was heated by allegations against the Left, against the All India Student Council.
Aishi Ghosh of Student Federation of India (SFI) was elected as the president in this election. Aishi, originally from West Bengal, got 2 votes, Aishi defeated Manish Jangid of Abhayavip. Manish got 6 votes.
Notably, a young man from Maharashtra made his mark in this election. Saket Moon, originally from Nagpur, was elected vice-president. The Democratic Students Federation (DSF) defeated Shruti Agnihotri of Abhayavip. Saket got the most 3 votes. Saket won by getting more than twice the votes. Satish Chandra Yadav has been elected as the secretary of the All India Student Association (AISF). Satish got 5 votes.
So, with 199 votes, All India Student Federation (AISF) Mohammed Danish won in the post of vice-president.
As soon as the results were announced, the left joint front had left the university campus announcing ‘Lal Salaam’.
The Delhi High Court had earlier asked the university to retain the results after a petition by two students of the university. Later, on September 6, the high court allowed the results to be declared, after which the results were announced.
